Explore Youth and Family Therapy (Explore) is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to serve young people and their families in Eastern and Southern Melbourne, and Western Gippsland. Explore partners with volunteers and like-minded organisations to provide a flexible approach to meet the needs of young people. 


​Explore is developing their Strategic Plan for 2021-2023. The board, MaST (Management & Support Team), comprises dedicated volunteers with diverse life experience and professional backgrounds. 

Robert Coller is Director of Explore and is a Clinical Family Therapist and Bush Adventure Therapist. He utilises a relational therapeutic approach that is trauma focussed, family systems theory, narrative therapy, bush adventure therapy and values in action-based experiential learning. Robert is a Senior Clinician with Berry Street's Take Two program. Robert is a Clinical Member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy (AAFT). He is also a past committee member and current volunteer of the Australian Association of Bush Adventure Therapy (AABAT). Robert began his youth work career with a Diploma of Youth Ministry from Ridley College.

Robert supports young people, individuals, couples and families to discover their potential, grow in self care, develop healthy relationships and connect with community. His enthusiasm and expertise over 36 years of experience in the field has helped him develop a unique focus for assisting youth and families in distress. Robert's adventurous spirit and encouraging nature characterises his approach to helping young people discover their potential and create connection in their lives.

Robert's experience includes::

• community youth worker in churches - 6 years
• supporting youth living with an intellectual disability in residential care - 3 years,
• youth therapist at Odyssey House AOD Youth Therapeutic Community - 3 years,
• team leader and youth outreach therapist at YFC Melbourne leading a team supporting lead tenant and independent unit accommodation and Bush Adventure Therapy to homeless young people in eastern metro for 6.5 years and a further 7.5 years providing outreach counselling, family mediation, Bush Adventure Therapy and an early intervention program, No Limits, in schools across the southern metro region to at risk and homeless young people
• Senior Clinician with Take Two Berry Street program - 5 years

Robert's experience ideally places him in a much sought after individual and group supervisory role for youth workers, counsellors, community schools, outdoor therapists and homelessness professionals.
