YaFT provides counseling and outreach support for young people in need, youth at risk, families, couples, individuals and groups. YaFT specialises in supporting youth who are at risk of or are homeless and where possible is inclusive of families.
Young people 'at risk' may be referred to YaFT by a concerned person in contact with the young person at home, school, youth refuge or residential home, government department, family and friends.
YaFT provides therapeutic, relational short to long-term counseling. YaFT focuses on each person discovering self-efficacy, building resilience, gaining skills and confidence to go into the future. YaFT supports a young person in connecting to their community. Counseling aims to create a safe space in which a young person can rediscover their own potential and learn to develop meaningful relationships with those around them.
Robert Coller is a Clinical Family Therapist, registered with the Australian Association of Family Therapists (AAFT) and endorsed with the Family Reconciliation and Mediation Program (FRMP) which is auspiced by Melbourne City Mission (MCM).
Fees for private counseling: $85 - $130 per session and allow for Health Care Card Holders and others in need to pay as able.
FRMP provides brokerage funding for up to 10 counseling sessions and/or group work for youth at risk of homelessness aged 16-25. This funding can provide for counseling with the young person and their families where possible. To access this funding, criteria set by FRMP need to be met. Referrals may be made by self, teachers, youth workers and other health professionals.

YaFT partners with TLC Support Inc. Robert is an outreach worker who is able to travel to meet young people and families in need of support. Robert also offers counseling in his room in Bayswater, Melbourne.
